All About Him

This week over at Drunken Stampers it's All About Him #60.
This worked out well, because I needed to make Jeff a birthday card! I used Crumb Cake card stock (SU). I used the Top Note Sizzix Die on the red cardstock and added the mini screw brads. I embossed the aluminum foil with the diamond plate Cuttlebug folder. To make the wrenches I stamped the foil with black Stazon ink using the Totally Tool (SU) stamps.

A word: Story

This week Simon Says Stamp and Show ... a word! I made an altered book with the theme Story:
I took a class over at http://www.deviantscrap.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2109 on Altered Books taught by Beth Rimmer.
My book also was made with Gingersnap Creations GC95: Random Redhead Challenge - Typewriters in mind. I love antique typewriters and fonts. I added 2 typewriters and the font I used on the typerwriter on the top left is my favorite: 1942 Report.

Typerwriter on top left is from Queen Bee by Holliewood Studios at Deviant Scrap.com

I made the drawers using Crumb Cake cardstock (SU).

The handles are Hitch Knobs (Tim Holtz)

I made the heart out of bronze UTEE.
The heart charm is a Typewriter charm by Tim Holtz that I put a heart in.

I made the flower from Tattered Floral Die by Tim Holtz and embossed it with the Vintage Wallpaper embossing Folder (SU).  Edges were inked with Brick Red Distress Ink.

Tickets and metal corners are by Tim Holtz, and glass charms are from Michaels. I glued everything down including the pages with Claudine Helmuth's Multi Medium Matte -it's an awesome glue!!

Drunken Stampers Challenge #59 ~ Twisted Fairytales

I had a great time making my shoe! I used Stacy's Shoe Template.
I embossed the white cardstock with the SU Vintage Wallpaper folder. I added lace around the edge of the shoe.

I found the quote online and it was perfect for this challenge, and I do love shoes!!

I used Tim's Tattered Florals Sizzix die and Spun Sugar Distress Ink to make the flower.

GC:94 Office Supplies!

This is my project for the theme: Office Supplies over at Gingersnap Creations.
I made 2 card display holders using some binder clips. I added some notebook lined cardstock (Daisy D's). The stamps are from Stamping Up using Victorian Velvet and Walnut Stain Distress Inks.

I added some ribbon, lace & a gem. The larger one can hold greeting cards and the smaller one holds ATC's or other smaller projects. Thanks for looking!!

Simon Says Stamp and Show ... some Stars!

This week Simon Says Stamp and Show ... some Stars!
I made a cover for a deck of playing cards. My friends and I love to play the card game Pounce. I made this deck for one of my friend's birthday, she LOVES stars. :) I covered the box with Sticky- Back Canvas to make it more durable so she can keep a deck in her purse in case she wants to play.
The star on the top flap is punched from a piece of cardstock and 2 layers of clear UTEE was applied to it. I sewed on a Tim Holtz snap.

I sprayed the canvas with Key Lime Tattered Angels Glitter Spray.

Next I stamped stars (SU! Stamps) all over the dry canvas using Black Archival Ink. Then I brushed a thin layer of Claudine Hellmuth's Multi Medium all over the canvas to seal and protect it.

Steamtown Scientifics!

Here's my digital scrap page for Beth Rimmer's new kit Steamtown Scientifics over at deviantscrap.com It's an awesome kit!
I watch Warehouse 13 on Sci- Fi, and HG Wells was a woman! Too cool! So I made a scene with HG Wells the woman. It's a great show.

Faux Wood & Hard Work

I haven't participated for a while over at Drunken Stampers, but this challenge caught my eye: Faux Wood!! I really liked the technique Tim Holtz used this past year on one of his 12 Tags of Christmas. I don't own the embossing folder he used, so I used a Texturz Plate by Stampin Up from Texture Plates Kit #4.
Over at Gingersnap Creations the theme is Get to Work! The wood background on my project reminded me of loggers and how hard they work. The photo is from the web. It's from 1920. It amazes me how they were able to cut such huge trees back then! I enjoy history, so in researching this project I learned a lot. I also found a quote that I liked "Some people dream of success.....while others wake up and work hard at it" ~unknown
I made the flowers using the TH Tattered Florals die with jeans and burlap. I added a screw brad and a TH gear. Edges of photo and faux wood inked with Walnut Distress Ink. The faux wood was inked with vintage photo, victorian velvet, tea stain and walnut distress inks.
